Columbia City: Farmer's Market, Book Store, and La Medusa

Funny shaped cucumbers, a kick-ass library, and a book whisperer!??? What more could you ask for?

HISTORY: This neighborhood used to be a conifer forest inhabited by Salish people until a lumber mill was built there in 1891. This change to the region meant they needed a new name... something that screamed "power" and "bounty".... so they named it Columbia after the Columbia River; it later changed to Columbia City, the 3 streets named after explorers remain the same (Magellan, Hudson, and Americus).

FOOD: La Medusa on a Wednesday night can't be beat. The prix fixe menu features items made with ingredients from the previously mentioned farmer's market. So delicious. Don't miss the truffle desserts... yummy

WHAT TO DISCUSS OVER DINNER: If you taught a High School English class, which books would you want to learn as a group?

Monday Night Spaghetti Night at Spring Hill

Monday Nights at Spring Hill in West Seattle. Five Stars.

The meatballs are so fluffy they are more like Meatloaf Balls... or Loaf Balls. and the croutons are to die for.
How to make your very own West Seattle:
1) take all the cute trendy hot spots you love in Seattle (Cupcake Royal, Easystreet Records, Great Harvest bread, Matador?, etc.)
2) put them in a cookie jar and shake them up
3) sprinkle them over Sacramento
